Free parking available.The sea overlooking from the main shrine has a beautiful view!If you go down the stairs, you can reach the beach.In summer, depending on the time you visit, I think it's better to have insect repellent spray.At the beach, it was stone gravel, not sandy beach, so sand did not get into the shoes. Free carpark near the marine museum adjacent to the shrine building which you can walkdown the stairs toward the torii surrounded by seawater. There are winter rose growing next to the staircase. Also pretty collections of ume and sakura plants around the area. Interestingly there are anchor graves near the shrine. Many restaurant offering local delicacies such as anko nabe (monkfish hot pot) along the streets near the torii gate.

時々、自転車で訪問します。パワースポットです大洗山にあり、大己貴命（おおなむちのみこと）・小彦名命（すくなひこなのみこと）の2柱をお祀りしています。県指定文化財の本殿・拝殿をはじめ関東有数の大鳥居がよく知られており、古くから家内安全・海上交通の守り神として信仰を集めています。境内には高浜虚子三大句の碑や海洋博物館があります。本殿は、一間社流造茅葺、拝殿は桁行き五間、梁間二間、一間向拝付入母屋造。（千鳥破風向拝部軒唐破風付）元禄3年（1690年）に水戸2代藩主徳川光圀（義公）が社殿造営の工を起し、次いで3代藩主綱條（粛公）により、本殿・拝殿・神門の建造を終え、享保15年（1730年）に現時地に遷座。随神門は、江戸時代末期頃に建てられたと思われます。正面が三間、側面二間、切妻造、銅版葺となる欅造、立派な彫刻が多い門で、頭貫の木鼻は「籠彫」と称される透彫の彫刻です。海に近いからか「波」の模様が多く、正面と背面の中央の蟇股彫刻には祭神のご威徳を表す「因幡の白兎」が彫られています。

Beautiful, peaceful and large shrine!

This shrine is at the top of the stairs looking out on to the ocean but there is also a road and car park that comes around the back. It's a small shrine but has the proper amenities as well as an indoor waiting room for the colder months. The view of the ocean is lovely and makes for a nice stop while going up the coast.

The view is good and it is also worth visiting as a sacred place for anime. The precincts are beautiful, and the Otorii gate is also impressive. It's worth going down to the sea and seeing the Kamiiso Torii.

神社は小高い山の上にあり、上まで車で上がることができます。また、駐車場にも余裕があります。こちらの神社で御朱印をいただくことができました。また、鳥居は階段を下りた先の海岸にあります。

You must be come on the oarai isosaki shrine, and look the temple and the sea. Its so beautyfull.

It is several times smaller than what I saw on SNS, and there are many disappointing points.On the contrary, it gets excited.The shrine along the road is larger than the Isomae shrine in the sea, and there is a torii gate, which is powerful.

Very beautiful and well maintained Isosaki shrines constructed in AD 856. Tori (gate) near the beach side is offering a very good view during sunrise.

It is a beautiful shrine with a long history.I felt that the sculptures in the main hall were both beautiful and cute. ‥The shrine itself is very well maintained and the parking lot is wide and clean.What made me especially excited was the soothing view of the sea and the sound of the waves from the torii gate.There was a [Marine Museum] between the parking lot and the main hall. I couldn't see it because it was temporarily closed today, but I would like to take a closer look.

“Lucky” enough to attend on a slightly stormy day, so the sea had a bit of swell. Really added to the effect. I’m sure that attending at sunrise/sunset is recommended though. There is plenty of free parking just up the road. There are several hotels and restaurants in the area.

This shrine is one of the treasures of Ibaraki prefecture. The view of the tori gate in the ocean is breath taking, especially when the waves are hitting the rocks and splashing the gate. This shrine is also know for a beautiful sun rise view. If you are standing in the right position, you can see the sun coming up through the gate.

Unique shrine gate standing on a sea rock. The gate is facing to the east, so if you visit early in the morning, you would have a chance to see the sun rising over the gate. Refreshing winds from the Pacific Ocean.

Everything looks like this is a place for Otakus. Apparently, a somewhat famous anime (Garupa?) is set here. A lot of people with anime and manga related job aspirations wrote their wishes on the boards. The beach is very nice, you can listen to the sound of the stones rolling back into the water for hours.
